The researchers of the Liberation War Museum’s Centre for the Study of Genocide and Justice presented the report at a programme in Dhaka on Saturday.

They said the atrocities against the Rohingyas in Myanmar were clear violations of the UN Genocide Convention and the International Crimes Court Rome Statute.

From testimonies of Rohingyas at refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, the researchers found that the atrocities faced by the Rohingyas in the Rakhine State included mass killing in the form of gunning, slaughtering, beheading and burning people alive, including women and children.

The other forms of atrocities the Rohingyas faced included arbitrary arrest, arson, torture and rape and other forms of sexual violence in the existence of concentration camps.

Argentine Irina Massimino, an internationally renowned expert in genocide study, told the programme that the international community must take steps in this regard.

The Museum’s Trustee Mofidul Hoque was among others present at the programme.
