Jessore man sentenced to death for wife’s murder
A Jessore court has sentenced a man to death for the murder of his wife and also fined him Tk 100,000.

The Jessore Women and Children’s Repression Prevention Tribunal announced the verdict in the 2007 case on Tuesday.
The death row convict, Rafiqul Islam, is on the run.
Islam beat and then strangled his wife Nazma after her family failed to meet his demand for a Tk 100,000 dowry, said the court’s Public Prosecutor Idris Ali.
Nazma’s father filed the case over her murder.
