A senior foreign ministry official said the Union’s President had invited the PM to speak during its ongoing session ending on Dec 6.

Founded in 1823, this debating society is one of Britain’s oldest university unions.
Many global leaders, personalities as well as celebrities have spoken as guests.
Hasina was the first Bangladeshi Prime Minister, who had spoken earlier, in 2011, on world peace.
This subject she will speak on is yet to be decided. The date, too, is not fixed yet.
However, the official told bdnews24.com that they were proposing Nov 13 as the date of speech.
Oxford Union’s high-profile guests include such names as Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Reverend Ian Paisley, Yasser Arafat, US Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, and the UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill, among many others.
The Union has gained worldwide fame for its debate, proving a valuable training ground for many future politicians from Britain and other countries.
Its current President, Benjamin Sullivan, is a student of history and politics at Christ Church College, Oxford.
