Gazipur, Aug 20 (bdnews24.com)— Humayun Ahmed's actor wife Meher Afroz Shaon and sons Nishad and Ninit spent the Eid day at Nuhash Palli in Gazipur, where the writer has been laid to rest .
Shaon came to the sprawling mansion, the favourite haunt of the celebrated write-filmmaker, with her mother Tahura Ali MP, father Mohammad Ali and two sisters on Sunday night.
Publisher Anyoprakash Executive Director Mazharul Islam, who published many of the popular fiction writer's books and was known to be closed to the family, also joined them with his wife and children.
In the morning, Nishad and Ninit went to a local mosque with Shaon's father to meet with the local people and pray at a mosque. They then spent some time beside their father's grave.
"The children would be happy to be at Nuhash Palli on the Eid day. Their father's soul will be happy, too. So we've decided to spend the day here. They've lost their father… we wanted them to spend the Eid day near their father," Shaon said on Monday.
Shaon was likely to leave for Dhaka at night.
The retreat is open to all until Aug 28, Nuhash Palli Manager Saiful Islam Bulbul said.
Humayun died in a New York hospital on Jul 19 after suffering from colon cancer.
He had another son, Nuhash Ahmed, and daughters Nova Ahmed, Sheela Ahmed and Bipasha Ahmed with his first wife, Gultekin Khan.
