Tension has flared once more outside the Jatiya Party office in Kakrail, with a heavy police presence maintaining security.

Since Saturday morning, hundreds of officers were stationed near the office.

Around 3pm, 20–25 leaders and activists of the July Mancha staged repeated marches along the road in front of the office, moving toward Bijoynagar Nightangle Intersection, with police actively monitoring the situation.

Ramna Model Police Station chief Atikul Islam Khandakar said, “We are alert to maintain overall law and order.”

Over a hundred Jatiya Party leaders were observed at the office, though police did not allow anyone to remain there for any peace-related complaints. Party leaders declined to comment when approached.

Activists from the July Mancha repeatedly shouted slogans demanding justice over Friday’s attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad chief Nurul Haque Nur.

The unrest follows Friday night’s violent clash outside the Jatiya Party office, where former DUCSU vice-president Nur was seriously injured in a stone-pelting incident. Party members rescued him from the scene and took him to hospital in a bloodied state.
