Rain is likely to fall in Dhaka before evening, pause overnight, then return in the early hours, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast.
Meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir told bdnews24.com on Sunday that Dhaka may see light to moderate rain until evening.
"There's no chance of rain from evening to midnight, but rainfall may pick up again in the early hours," he said.
Dhaka recorded slight rainfall in the 24 hours to 6am Sunday.
With the monsoon active, rain is forecast across the country on the day.
The Met Office's regular bulletin says most parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and many parts of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, may see gusty winds with light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with heavy rainfall possible in isolated places nationwide.
The monsoon is active in the northern region, fairly active elsewhere in the country, and in a moderate state over the north Bay of Bengal, it reads.
Tetulia in Panchagarh recorded the highest rainfall, 170mm, in the 24 hours to 6am Sunday.
Rajshahi recorded the day's highest temperature, at 35 degrees Celsius.
