Man stabs wife, mother-in-law to death in Dhaka’s Kalabagan

Police say a man has stabbed his wife and mother-in-law to death in Dhaka’s Kalabagan.

Kalabagan Police Station chief Fazle Ashiq said that Hridoy aka Shipon stabbed his wife and mother-in-law over a "domestic dispute" around 9:30am on Sunday.

The victims have been identified as Farzana Akter Ratri, 20, and her mother Firoza Begum, 38.

Police have arrested Shipon in connection with the incident.

"A man named Shipon stabbed his wife and mother-in-law to death," Ashiq said.

Shipon attacked them after Firoza, his mother-in-law, became involved at one point in an argument between the couple, the police official said.

Ratri died on the spot when she was stabbed with a knife for cutting vegetables. Firoza was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with injuries and later died there.
