Bangladesh promotes 2,706 college teachers to professor, associate professor ranks

The promoted college teachers have been instructed to join the secondary and higher education directorate as special officers

The government has elevated 2,706 teachers in government colleges to ranks of professor and associate professor.

Among them, 995 associate professors were promoted to professor, while 1,711 were promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the education ministry formalised the promotions on Thursday.

New professors will receive fourth-grade pay, and associate professors will receive fifth-grade pay.

Promoted teachers have been instructed to join the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education as special officers while continuing their previous responsibilities.
