A function titled ‘Aamar Jibon O Aamar Rachana’ (literally My Life and My Essays) will be organised at 6pm on Sunday at ‘Batighar’ (lighthouse), housed on the ground floor of Chittagong Press Club building.

Batighar’s proprietor Dipankar Dash told bdnews24.com that the function will be organised centring Samaresh Majumdar and that poets, novelists and literature-loving people of Chittagong region will attend it.
The popular author will discuss with the audiences his life and writings.
Samaresh Majumdar is no stranger to any avid reader of Bangla literature.
His powerful trilogy — Uttaradhikar, Kalbela, Kalpurush — published some 30 years ago till date remains one of the greatest ever works in Bangla literature. Apart from the trilogy, novels like Garbhodharini, Shatkahon and more made Shamaresh an inseparable part of the Bangla literature.
Born in Jalpaiguri, Shamaresh Majumdar’s first novel Dour was published in the Bangla magazine Desh, in 1976. Since then he has been enriching the Bangla literature with his immortal writings.
Samaresh Majumdar came to Dhaka to attend the Ekushey Book Fair in 2011. But this will be the writer’s first visit to Chittagong.
