Russian troops capture village in eastern Ukraine, RIA reports

Russian forces took control of the village of Karpivka in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, the RIA state news agency reported on Saturday, citing the defence ministry.

Separately, the TASS state news agency reported that Ukrainian drones were attempting to attack production facilities in Almetyevsk in Russia's Tatarstan region, and cited the head of the city as saying defence systems were operating in an enhanced mode.

Reuters could not independently confirm the battlefield reports.
