US President Donald Trump has claimed he ended seven wars across the world and deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for each, including one for stopping the conflict between India and Pakistan.
He said this on Saturday night during a speech at the American Cornerstone Institute Founders’ Dinner, NDTV reported.
Trump said: "On the world stage, we are once again doing things that we are just respected at a level that we have never been respected before.
"We are forging peace agreements, and we are stopping wars. So we stopped wars between India and Pakistan, Thailand and Cambodia.”
"Think of India and Pakistan. Think of that,” he added. “And you know how I stopped that -- with trade. They want to trade. And I have great respect for both leaders.”
The president said he had been told he could win a Nobel Prize if he ends the Russia–Ukraine war, but questioned why his previous efforts had not been recognised.
Trump added that he had hoped ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict would be “the easiest” for him, citing his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I have a good relationship with President Putin, disappointed in him, but I do. I thought that would be the easiest one, but we'll get it done one way or the other."
