World Court opens landmark Myanmar Rohingya genocide case

It is the first genocide case the International Court of Justice will hear in full in over a decade

A landmark case accusing Myanmar of committing genocide against minority Muslim Rohingya has opened at the United Nations' top court on Monday.

It is the first genocide case the International Court of Justice (ICJ), also known as the World Court, will hear in full in over a decade.

The outcome is expected to set precedents about how a genocide can be defined and proven.
