EU opens investigation into X's AI chatbot Grok

The move comes after Musk's xAI Grok churned out thousands of sexualised images of women and minors

Elon Musk's Grok chatbot will be investigated on whether it disseminates illegal content such as manipulated sexualised images in the European Union in breach of the bloc's tech rules, the European Commission said on Monday, putting the company at risk of a hefty fine.

The move by the Commission under the Digital Services Act, which requires Big Tech to do more to tackle illegal and harmful online content, came after Musk's xAI Grok churned out thousands of sexualised images of women and minors that alarmed global regulators.
