Real Madrid agree €60mn deal to sign Cucurella from Chelsea: Athletic

Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella for €60 million ($69.4 million), according to The Athletic.

The deal includes a €55 million fixed fee and €5 million in potential add-ons.

The final paperwork is still pending, but the transfer is expected to be completed early next week.

The Athletic previously reported on Jun 1 that several clubs had contacted Cucurella’s representatives, with sources familiar with the situation saying the Spain international was open to leaving Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona had also shown interest in the 27-year-old left-back, while Real Madrid and incoming Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca were among those monitoring his situation.
