Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City for about £65 million or nearly $88 million, according to BBC Sport.
The 30-year-old, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2024, is set to sign a four-year contract with the Spanish champions. The transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.
Rodri joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a then club-record £62.8 million and made 298 appearances during seven trophy-filled seasons at the club.
His 2024-25 campaign was largely disrupted by a serious knee injury, while a hamstring problem affected parts of the following season.
He returned to his best at the World Cup in the summer, helping Spain win their second title and being named the tournament’s player of the competition.
