Dhaka, Dec 3 (bdnews24.com) - Bangladesh Saturday made an early exit from the Asian Games conceding a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Bahrain at Al-Arabi Football Stadium in Doha.
Bangladesh, who lost 3-0 to Korea in the Group B opener, trailed by 2-0 goals in the first half as Ismaeel Abdullatif put Bahrain ahead in the 27th minute and Mohamed Husain doubled the lead in the 39th minute from the spot.
Abdullatif came back after half-time to put the result of the match beyond any doubt in the 72nd minute before Husain struck his team's fourth goal three minutes later.
Sayed Mohamed Adnan made it 5-0 in the 80th minute before substitute Zahid Hossain pulled one goal back for Bangladesh two minutes from time.
Bahrain top Group B with Korean on the back of their second successive victory. The leaders will face each other to decide the group champions.
The group's other team Vietnam, who went down 2-0 to Korea and 2-1 to Bahrain, are at bottom alongside Bangladesh.
Bangladesh face Vietnam at the same venue Tuesday.
