Chelsea have reached an agreement with Aston Villa to sign World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for £7.5 million, according to The Athletic.
The 33-year-old Argentina international is set to sign a two-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
The move follows an offer made by his representatives to the west London club earlier this week after current starter Robert Sanchez made two errors in Chelsea's season-opening win over Fulham.
Martinez, who made 256 appearances for Villa and helped lead them to Europa League victory and Champions League qualification last season, has been training alone since a proposed transfer to Juventus collapsed earlier this month.
