Liverpool and Bayern Munich are in advanced talks over a deal for Colombian winger Luis Diaz after an initial bid of £58.5 million was rejected by the Premier League champions.
The Bundesliga champions' improved offer is believed to be around £69 million ($92.7 million), Sky Sports reports.
Coach Arne Slot’s side have been reluctant to sell the winger but Diaz has expressed his intention to leave and join Bayern.
Liverpool, along with Diaz, are currently on the pre-season tour but the winger has been left out of the friendly defeat against AC Milan because of speculation surrounding a move for the player.
"There are a lot of rumours around Luis lately and I cannot go into that," Slot was quoted as saying by BBC Sports.
"He's training really well but we have decided for now not to play him."
The 28-year-old joined the Reds in January 2022 for a deal worth £37.5 million ($50.3 million) and penned a five-and-a-half-year contract.
The winger made 148 appearances for Liverpool and scored on 48 occasions as he picked up the 2024/25 Premier League champions trophy.
