Shibir chief, 60 others indicted

Speedy Trial Tribunal Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan framed the charges against the accused and fixed June 26 to record deposition of the prosecution witnesses.

The court also denied the accused bail.

All the 41 arrested suspects, including Delwar, claimed that they were innocent when court read out the charges. The court also issued arrest warrant for the 20 fugitive accused in the case. Police filed the case on Jan 28 under the Speedy Trial Act with Motijheel Police Station on charges of creating panic among the people by exploding handmade crude bombs and vandalising vehicles following a procession demanding release of all detained top Jamaate-Islami leaders.
