Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is holding an exchange of views with district-level BNP leaders of the party’s three affiliate organisations -- Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal, Jatiotabadi Swechhasebak Dal and Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal.

The meeting began at 10:45am on Saturday at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium in Dhaka’s Farmgate.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is attending as special guest, while Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is presiding over the session.

Other high-profile attendees include Standing Committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, Selima Rahman, and AZM Zahid Hossain.

This is the first formal interaction between the BNP chief and field-level leaders since the general election held on Feb 12.

Rizvi said the party’s election manifesto and the government’s planned programmes would be presented to leaders at the meeting.

He added that organisational activities of the party would also come up for discussion.

The meeting is scheduled to continue throughout the day.
