BNP nominates Monirul Haque Sakku for Comilla City Corporation election

The BNP has nominated Monirul Haque Sakku as its candidate for Comilla City Corporation election to be held on Mar 30.

BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain told bdnews24.com that party chief Khaleda Zia selected Monirul as the party’s candidate for the Comilla City election after interviewing the aspirants for nominations.

“He was earlier elected as city mayor. So, madam has selected him for the contest again,” Mosharraf said.  

Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mosharraf himself were present at the meeting.

The newly installed Election Commission announced the schedule after taking office earlier in the middle of this month.

The election is being held with party tickets after the amendment of local government election laws.
