Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar has visited BNP Standing Committee Member and Political Advisor to the Prime Minister Mirza Abbas at a hospital in Malaysia to enquire about his health.

Porwar, who is currently visiting Malaysia, went to the Prince Court Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, according to a Jamaat media release issued on Tuesday.

He was accompanied by Jamaat lawmaker Nazibur Rahman Momen during the visit.

Abbas was initially admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka's Bashundhara on Mar 11 after suddenly losing consciousness during Iftar.

A medical team comprising neurosurgeons promptly performed brain surgery on the veteran BNP leader.

On Mar 15, he was flown to Singapore General Hospital via an air ambulance, where he showed significant recovery following a month-long treatment.

On Apr 14, Abbas was transferred to the Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia for physiotherapy.
