BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has visited Nurul Haque Nur, president of Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP), and Khandaker Lutfur Rahman, chief of a Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) faction -- both currently under hospital care following separate violent incidents.

On Tuesday, Fakhrul first visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see Nur, who suffered injuries during a baton charge by joint forces against a GOP procession on Aug 29 near the Jatiya Party’s Kakrail office.

The BNP leader met with hospital staff to receive updates on Nur’s condition and also spoke privately with the former DUCSU vice president.

Fakhrul later visited Rahman at Islami Bank Central Hospital in Kakrail to inquire after his health.

Lutfur was injured in an attack on Bijoynagar Road late on Monday, where assailants, reportedly wielding sharp weapons, assaulted him shortly after he left a meeting at the GOP office.
