The central council of the pro-BNP doctors’ organisation, Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB), is set for Saturday to select its new leadership.
The voting will take place at Wills Little Flower School and College in Dhaka’s Kakrail, where doctors will cast their ballots in person.
Polling will begin at 1pm and continue until 5pm.
Bijan Kanti Sarkar, chief election commissioner for the DAB central executive committee election, told bdnews24.com: “All preparations for the council have been completed. Voting will start on time.”
The election will decide office-bearers for five key posts: president, senior vice-president, secretary general, senior joint secretary general, and treasurer.
This time, 3,131 voters are eligible to cast their ballots.
The poll includes two panels in competition, plus a lone independent candidate for president.
