49 women elected unopposed to reserved seats sworn in

Speaker Hafiz Uddin has administered the oath

The 49 MPs elected unopposed to reserved women’s seats in the 13th Parliament have taken their oaths.

Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad administered the oath at a ceremony held at the parliament building around 9pm on Sunday.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman.

The swearing-in was conducted in line with Article 148 of the Constitution, Clause 5 of the Third Schedule, and Rule 5 of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament.

Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat Golam Sorwar Bhuiyan conducted the ceremony.
