Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will remain non-working members of the Royal Family despite their recent return to the United Kingdom, King Charles III has confirmed.
Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and will not carry out royal engagements on behalf of the Crown.
Weeks after the couple reportedly moved back to the UK with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, new guidance issued by King Charles said they would continue to be referred to by their Sussex titles but would not use His or Her Royal Highness (HRH), WION reports.
The guidance follows weeks of speculation over the couple’s royal status after their return to the UK.
“It follows that there is no change to the current status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the letter states. “Their styles as His and Her Royal Highness remain in abeyance and are not used.”
