Transgender delegation thanks Hasina for recognition as third gender in Bangladesh
The transgender people of Bangladesh have expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the state recognition of third gender.

A five-strong delegation of representatives of the transgender communities met Hasina at the Ganabhaban on Sunday evening.
The meeting was held in a ‘very emotional’ environment, her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told the media.
“Of course you are my child,” Hasina told Abida Islam Moyuri, the head of the delegation, who asked the prime minister to accept her as her child, according to Karim.
The members of the delegation work under Siri Social Welfare Organisation for transgender people in Jamalpur.
Moyuri thanked Hasina for the state recognition of the gender and said no other government worked for them in the past.
The prime minister urged them to work for the welfare of the people.
