A Bangladeshi woman has succumbed to the burn injuries she suffered during in a devastating fire at a hotel in the Indian capital on Jun 3, bringing the death toll to 23.

The woman died at a local hospital on Wednesday, reports NDTV, citing police.

However, a statement by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal did not disclose her identity.

The fire broke out a little before 9am local time at the hotel called “Flourish Stays Bed and Breakfast” in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar on Jun 3.

Indian media primarily reported 21 fatalities, including 18 foreign nationals. It later came to light that a Bangladeshi national was among the dead.

On Jun 4, the day after the blaze, the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi identified the Bangladeshi national as 44-year-old Md Nurul Amin.

Earlier in the day, the mission said at least eight Bangladeshis had been injured in the fire. At that time, doctors said three of them were in critical condition.

Recently the death count from the blaze had risen to 22 after a Nigerian national with severe burn injuries died at a hospital.
