The interim government has launched a “media centre” and hotline for foreign journalists ahead of the election and referendum.
In a media statement, it said the media centre has been set up at the InterContinental Dhaka.
The media centre, opened under the initiative of the Press Information Department (PID), will remain operational from Monday to Friday.
Two hotline numbers (48322344 and 48322435) have also been introduced for foreign journalists seeking election-related information.
PID has also published a media guide for foreign correspondents.
A separate media statement said the guide contains information on the Election Commission, election offices, important individuals, and all returning officers.
Contact numbers and emails of security forces and various agencies assigned to election duties are also included.
The guide also provides contact details for newspapers, news agencies, and satellite television channels in Dhaka, as well as information on the PID media centre and emergency services for foreign journalists, including money exchange facilities, hotels, restaurants, and transport services.
It also includes background information on the referendum and election, participating political parties, the electoral code of conduct and guidelines for foreign journalists covering the polls.
The general election and referendum are scheduled to be held on Feb 12.
