Jamaat‑e‑Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman has won the Dhaka‑15 constituency in the national election.
He received 85,131 votes.
His closest rival, BNP’s Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton, secured 63,517 votes.
The margin of victory stood at nearly 22,000 votes.
According to the Election Commission, 44 percent of registered voters in the constituency cast their ballots.
