From ruling party to opposition, debutants make up over half of new parliament

Only 3 Jamaat MPs see second term, while 70 BNP winners have no parliamentary experience

Among the winners of the 13th parliamentary elections, 151 candidates will be entering parliament for the first time.

The newcomers include BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman, and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convenor Nahid Islam.

Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki and Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur are also on this list of debutants.

Results for 297 out of 299 seats in the parliamentary polls have been announced. Of these, the BNP has won 209 seats, while Jamaat secured 68.

NCP secured six seats, and the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis won two.

Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Khelafat Majlis, and the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) each secured one seat.

More than half of the winners have never served in parliament before.
