Unchecked standing water pools fuel dengue menace

The number of dengue patients is increasing every day in different hospitals in Dhaka and other parts of the country. Water that has accumulated in various fountains and sculptures around the capital can serve as breeding sites for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, known carriers of the dengue virus.
