Worn-out sculptures in the port city

The statues of cricketers at the Sagorika Intersection in Chattogram city are victims of neglect. Most of the figures have been damaged in one place are another and a heavy layer of dust covers them, signs of their poor maintenance.

‘Swadhinata Sangram’ sculpture still in disrepair

On Dhaka University' Fuller Road stands the “Swadhinata Sangram” (Liberation Struggle) sculpture. Created by sculptor Shamim Sikder, it once featured around 116 works. But nearly all were vandalised on 5 August last year. More than a year later, they remain unrepaired.
