Baishakhi Shobhajatra ushers in Bengali New Year 1433

Dhaka University’s Faculty of Fine Arts has brought out its vibrant “Baishakhi Shobhajatra” parade on Pahela Baishakh to mark the first day of the Bengali New Year 1433. This year’s theme — “Noboborsher Oikotan, Ganatontrer Punurutthan” (New Year in harmony, revival of democracy) — set the tone for the celebration. The procession began at the Faculty of Fine Arts, passed through the National Museum intersection, TSC, Doel Chattar and Bangla Academy, before returning to its starting point.
