The era of hand-painted cinema posters and banners has come to an end. To keep pace with the times, Hanif Pappu has changed the nature of his work. He still paints, but now it’s “rickshaw art”. And instead of adorning the backs of rickshaws, his paintings decorate the homes of art lovers. To keep his craft alive, he has opened a school. He also paints rickshaw art on mufflers, T-shirts, and home décor items.
