Midnight tributes mark first hours of Ekushey

Feb 21 is a day of both pride and sorrow in Bengali history — a reminder of the sacrifices made to defend the mother tongue. In the early hours of the day, people from across the country gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar to honour the language martyrs with floral tributes.
