Water lilies bloom in Arial Beel

When water lilies bloom in Munshiganj's Arial Beel, it brings smiles on the faces of hundreds of locals. The flowers not only add to the beauty of the wetland, but they are also a source of income for many local residents. With demand for lilies high as a vegetable, large quantities are harvested and sent to Dhaka and other areas, where they sell well. However, due to reduced water levels and pollution, the Beel no longer yields as many lilies as it once did.
