Fans fly off the shelves amid heatwave

As a heatwave grips much of the country and frequent power cuts add to public discomfort, shoppers flock to fan retailers in search of relief. Alongside ceiling and stand fans, rechargeable models are seeing strong demand. To meet growing orders, retailers from across the country are sourcing supplies from Dhaka's wholesale electrical goods market on Nawabpur Road, while many customers are also heading there directly in search of lower prices.
