Nature takes over Chattogram’s Zia Memorial Complex
The Zia Memorial Complex beside the Kalurghat radio station in Chattogram’s Chandgaon area is home to miniature replicas of some of Bangladesh’s best-known landmarks, including the National Parliament, Ahsan Manzil, Curzon Hall, Kantajew Temple and the National Martyrs’ Memorial. The collection once earned the site the nickname “Mini Bangladesh”. But nearly two years after it was closed following an attack during the 2024 uprising, weeds and dense vegetation have taken over much of the complex.
