Banglalion users unable to read bdnews24.com

News seekers have been unable to access bdnews24.com using Banglalion – one of Bangladesh’s internet service providers.

Its customer care centre claimed Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) asked it to ‘block’ the leading news portal.

But a BTRC official could not say if any such directive was given to Banglalion.

Numerous frustrated readers have been calling bdnews24.com offices from Thursday to complain after failing to enter the bilingual site.

One Mahfuzur Rahman who uses Banglalion said he could access other sites but not bdnews24.com since Thursday night.

BTRC Vice Chairman Gen (Retd) Ahsan Habib Khan said he was not aware of any such directives given to Banglalion.
