Health authorities have recorded the death of eight more people due to measles and related symptoms over the past 24 hours.

During this period, 93 people have been diagnosed with measles and 1,092 people have been hospitalised with measles symptoms.

In its daily bulletin on Monday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said a total of 628 people have died due to measles and related symptoms since Mar 15.

Of these, 92 people have died of measles and 536 have died with symptoms.

Since Mar 15, at least 9,779 people with confirmed measles and another 65,237 exhibiting symptoms of the disease have been admitted to hospitals.

Dhaka Division topped the list with 346 new patients hospitalised in different hospitals over the past 24 hours, with Rangpur reporting 19 admissions.

Of those admitted with measles symptoms, 61,278 have recovered and left hospitals since Mar 15.
