Dengue admissions keep climbing while death toll remains unchanged

Health authorities have registered 94 more dengue hospitalisations across the country in a 24-hour count.

In its regular update on Friday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said no new deaths from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease occurred in the 24 hours until 8am.

With the latest figures, the nationwide death toll since January remains unchanged at 32.

Of those, 14 deaths have been reported in July so far.

Eleven new admissions were in Dhaka North while 25 were in Dhaka South. Additionally, three patients were admitted in Dhaka Division, excluding the two city corporations.

Mymensingh Division reported 14 new cases, Chattogram 31 and Barishal 10.

In the last 24 hours, 94 people were discharged from hospitals.

According to the DGHS, 9,770 people have been hospitalised and of them, 8,826 have recovered since Jan 1.
