Another 11 children have died in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours with measles and related symptoms, including four confirmed cases, according to health authorities.
During the period, 282 new measles cases were detected across the country, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in the daily bulletin on Sunday.
Since Mar 15, a total of 65 people have died from confirmed measles infections, while another 344 have died showing suspected measles symptoms, according to health directorate.
The highest number of suspected measles-related deaths -- 138 -- has been recorded in Dhaka Division, followed by 78 in Rajshahi.
Over the last 24 hours, 205 new measles cases were confirmed, while 1,503 people reported measles-like symptoms at hospitals.
Of them, 1,278 patients were admitted for treatment.
Hospital admissions were highest in the capital, where 156 patients were admitted in the last 24 hours, while Chattogram recorded the lowest with 44 admissions.
Since Mar 15, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 49,159 nationwide.
Of them, 6,819 have been confirmed as measles infections, the DGHS bulletin added.
