“Heroes in a Half-Shell” return to Manhattan this summer

PlatinumGames announced the return of the iconic "Heroes in a Half-Shell" to Manhattan in their next videogame outing, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.

The Turtles will be back to protect the Big Apple from aliens, mutants, and the nefarious Foot Clan in a fast-paced third person action game featuring both single-player and cooperative campaign, and a completely original storyline written by series-helmer Tom Waltz.

PlatinumGames' most recent works feature many critically acclaimed games including MadWorld, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and Transformers: Devastation, showing a dedication to their craft.

PlatinumGames' signature flair for slick action and bombastic style are on full display in their new announcement trailer released on Monday.

Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello can be seen pulling off their unique combat styles, Ninjutsu moves, and over-the-top co-op combos to defeat iconic villains like Rocksteady, Bebop, and Shredder. Though the game can be finished alone, it is exciting to see PlatinumGames approach four-player cooperative play.

Hearkening back to their comic book roots in the 80s, the developers have chosen to render these pop-cultural icons and the streets of nighttime New York City in a gorgeous cel-shaded style.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is expected to be out in summer 2016, and is being published by Activision Publishing in both physical retail and digital formats for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC (Steam) platforms.
