Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have ushered in Diwali with the public introduction of their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh.

On Tuesday, the Bollywood couple shared a series of photographs on Instagram that captured their first Diwali as a family of three.

The post, framed as a holiday greeting, showed Deepika and Ranveer dressed in complementary shades of red and soft pastels, holding their daughter close.

In one image, Dua sits serenely on her mother’s lap during a Lakshmi Puja, her small hands folded as Deepika gently guides her through the ritual.

The photographs marked the first time the couple have shown their daughter’s face since her birth on Sept 8, 2024.

Soon after Dua was born, Deepika and Ranveer had asked the media for privacy and requested that photographers refrain from taking pictures of their child until they felt ready to share her with the world.

That boundary was mostly respected, though Deepika recently made headlines after chiding a fan who attempted to take an unauthorised photo at an airport, according to Indian media outlet Hindustan Times.

The Diwali post was met with a wave of affection from fans and fellow actors alike, many leaving messages celebrating the family’s milestone.

Deepika and Ranveer, who married in 2018 after years of working together on-screen, have long maintained a careful balance between their fame and their private life.

This Diwali, though, they seemed willing to let that curtain lift, if only slightly, to offer a glimpse of the world they’ve built together.
