The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent theory exams have ended across Bangladesh except under the Chattogram education board, with results targeted for early November.
The final written papers for finance, banking, and insurance paper II, child development paper II, sociology paper II, social work paper II, and sports paper II under nine general education boards took place on Saturday.
The Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board held Alim higher mathematics paper II the same day.
Written exams for HSC Vocational and BMT under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board had already concluded earlier.
This year's HSC and equivalent exams began on Jul 2, with 1.27 million students filling out forms to sit them. For the first time, all education boards used identical question papers.
Exams of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong, however, will now run until Sept 9 after being postponed due to flooding.
The five districts under its jurisdiction, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Bandarban, Rangamati and Cox's Bazar, saw exams halted from Jul 8 to Jul 26.
Results in November
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has set an early November target for publishing HSC and equivalent results.
Committee and Dhaka board Chairman Prof Syed Aktaruzzaman said results would follow the customary 60-working-day window after written exams conclude.
"Chattogram board's written exams will end on Sept 9. Since results nationwide will be published together, we're working toward publishing within 60 working days from that date,” he told bdnews24.com on Saturday.
“We expect that to fall in the first half of November."
This year’s exams faced several controversies, including alleged errors in physics, chemistry and biology questions, distribution of wrong-year or wrong-set papers at several centres, and irregularities in answer-script evaluation.
A teacher under the Technical Education Board was suspended over alleged negligence in evaluating HSC BMT scripts.
