The government has appointed six education cadre officials as new chairpersons of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and five education boards across Bangladesh.

The appointments were made on Monday by the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.

Chattogram Government Commerce College Vice-Principal Fakhrul Mawla has been made the new chairperson of the NCTB.

Mymensingh Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Examination Controller Syed Akhtaruzzaman has been appointed chairperson of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

The current chairperson of the board, Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, has been transferred to Dhaka College.

Khondoker Mohammad Sadekur Rahman, secretary of the Cumilla Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, has been appointed chairperson of the Madrasa Education Board.

The current chairperson of the board, Miya Nurul Haque, has been attached to Dhaka College.

Faruk-e Azam Md Abdus Salam of Khulna Government Haji Muhammad Muhsin College has been appointed chairperson of the Jashore Education Board, Rajshahi Education Board Secretary Shamima Ara Chowdhury has been made chairperson of the Rajshahi Education Board, and Md Ahsan Parvez of Debidwar S A Government College in Cumilla has been appointed chairperson of the Cumilla Education Board.

Rajshahi Education Board Chairperson ANM Mofakhkharul Islam has been transferred to Rajshahi College, while Jashore Education Board Chairperson Mosammat Asma Begum has been transferred to Government Titumir College.
