SSC: No student pass at 312 institutions, 669 achieve 100% pass rate

No student from 312 educational institutions has passed this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations. while all candidates at 669 institutions passed.

Students from 30,402 educational institutions sat for the SSC and equivalent examinations this year.

The results were published on Monday morning. Later, Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon presented the detailed results at a press briefing at the Secretariat.

In the 2025 SSC and equivalent examinations, no students passed at 134 educational institutions, while 984 institutions recorded a 100 percent pass rate.

Compared with that year, the number of institutions with a 100 percent pass rate has fallen by 315 this year, while the number of institutions where all candidates failed has increased by 178.

In 2024, no students passed at 51 educational institutions. Meanwhile, 2,968 institutions recorded a 100 percent pass rate.

The pass rate for the SSC examinations this year was 62.25 percent, the lowest in the past 19 years.

Among the students who have completed secondary school, 116,676 achieved a GPA-5, accounting for 10.24 percent of all students who passed the examinations.

The pass rate has therefore fallen by 6.2 percentage points this year. The number of students securing the highest GPA-5 has also declined by 22,356.

Last year, 68.45 percent of students passed the secondary examinations, while 139,032 students achieved a GPA-5.

In 2021, a record 93.6 percent of students in the country passed the SSC examinations. This year’s average pass rate in the SSC and equivalent examinations is the lowest since 2007, when 57.37 percent of students passed.

A total of 1,829,485 students sat for this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations. Of them, 1,138,877 passed.

This year’s SSC and equivalent examinations began on Apr 21. The SSC theoretical exams ended on May 20, while the theoretical examinations for Dakhil and SSC and Vocational concluded on May 24.
