The government has proposed a special fund of Tk 1 billion in the upcoming budget to support young entrepreneurs.

In a bid to encourage self-employment, the government is also planning to raise the loan ceiling for youth entrepreneurs to Tk 500,000.

On Monday, Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed outlined the plans in the proposed Tk 7.90 trillion budget for fiscal year 2025-26.

In addition to supporting budding entrepreneurs, the government has also announced self-employment projects for the injured and families of the martyrs of the July Uprising.

The interim finance minister also proposed an allocation of Tk 1 billion to organise the Youth Festival in the upcoming fiscal year.

"We are working to harness the immense potential of the youth by building a skilled workforce and promoting self-employment," Salehuddin said.
