The BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) Cineframe Fest 2026 has drawn to a close with an awards ceremony recognising outstanding student-produced films at the three-day festival.
The festival, presented by Giant Group and Education Hub and organised by the BUFT Photography Club, featured film screenings and short film competitions, a media statement read on Thursday.
It was inaugurated on Jul 7.
Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees, attended the closing ceremony, while Sharmin Hassan Tithi, Director of Giant Group, was present.
Prof Ayub Nabi Khan, vice-chancellor (Designate) of BUFT, also graced the occasion, along with actors Runa Khan, Sadia Islam Mou, and Mir Sabbir, and several film directors.
Mohammad Imtiaj, director of the Public Relations Department, and Prof Md Waliul Alam, director of Student Welfare, delivered speeches at the event, which was also attended by faculty members, officials, and students of the university.
The closing ceremony capped off the festival, which featured screenings of several films, including Bonolota Express, Utsab, and The University of Chankharpul.
As many as 28 student-produced short films were screened during the festival, with the best entries selected by a jury and awarded during the ceremony.
